Noles Will Not Play Labor Day Game In 2008

    * FSU's four-year run of playing on Labor Day is over. Although not official but being reported, FSU will schedule two mid-level opponents to start the season. It is being reported that Western Carolina and Tennessee-Chattanooga will be signed on as non-conference games. The other non-conference games will be Colorado which will probably be scheduled for Jacksonville and of course the Gators.

    * Seminole placekicker Gary Cismesia was named a second team All-American by SI.com following a season that could end up as the best ever by a Seminole following the team's Music City Bowl game.

Cismesia, who has tied the ACC record for field goals in a season and who set the record for the longest field goal in ACC history versus Florida, is the first Seminole placekicker to receive first or second team All-America honors since Lou Groza Award winner Sebastian Janikowski in 1999. No kicker in the NCAA has more field goals this season than Cismesia and he is nearing 300 points in his career.
