Mocs To Play Noles In 2008

    * The Chattanooga Times Free Press is quoting University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletic director Rick Hart as stating that the Mocs are "...just a signature away from playing football at Florida State next fall." The deal which includes a $450,000 guarantee will likely be played the first or second week in September. The team went 2-9 this season. The only previous meeting between the two programs was a 37-0 Seminoles win in 1984.

    * Freshmen offensive linemen Rodney Hudson and Ryan McMahon were named to The Sporting News' All-ACC Freshmen tea.m. Hudson has already been named to the All-ACC team this year and McMahon was named a first team freshman All-American by Rivals this week as well.

Hudson, who is one of only five FSU players that have ever been named to the ACC's first or second team as a true freshman, has been one of the most pleasant surprises this season for the Seminoles. Hudson was named ACC Rookie of the Week following FSU's upset win over No. 2 Boston College and he received one of the top two grades on the line for five straight games. Hudson has graded out at 75% or better as a pass blocker in every game he has played since Clemson. Coming into the Florida game he missed only two assignments all year and had allowed only one sack all season.

McMahon, a converted defensive lineman, is the only freshman center in America to take every offensive snap for his team this season. Coming into the Florida game he had one of the top two grades on the line six times. With 68% being a winning grade, McMahon has graded out at 70% or better in seven of the first 11 games this season and he had not been flagged for a penalty. He recorded 18 knockdowns and had not allowed a sack in the season's first 11 games. McMahon is an exceptional pass blocker who has posted a grade of 78% or better seven times and of 84% or better four times.
