Canes And Yellow Jackets Lose Recruits

    * Top rated linebacker Lerentee McCray from Dunnellon, Florida is no longer onboard with the Hurricanes according to recruiting sources. McCray said, "Right now, I'm not committed anymore. They [Miami] are not really in the picture anymore either. Coach [Michael] Barrow and coach [Randy] Shannon didn't really want me to take these visits to SEC programs, so we came to an agreement yesterday." Additionally, McCray has set a new top five, "Florida is really high on my list. I'm considering them, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida State."The highly coveted senior has also visited LSU and Tennessee. Florida State could be next with South Carolina and Florida trips in January. McCray is described by some as one of the most athletic linebackers you'll find anywhere.

    * Georgia Tech’s decision to hire Navy coach Paul Johnson on Friday didn’t sit well with quarterback Sean Renfree of Notre Dame Prep School in Scottsdale, Ariz. Considered the 16th-best quarterback in the nation by Scout.com, Renfree, who threw for more than 3,200 yards and 41 touchdowns this season, elected to back out of his commitment to Tech over the weekend, just hours after leading his team to a state championship victory on Friday night. “Sean thinks Paul Johnson is a very good coach, who has a very good record,” Renfree’s father Kevin Renfree said Sunday night. “But Sean’s style is not suited to that [run-oriented] offense.
