    Scouting Maryland

Scouting The Offense: Look who discovered the passing portion of the playbook last week! Maryland threw everything but the kitchen sink at the unprepared Boston College secondary, and the result was a 42-35 win. Florida State is less likely to be caught napping, but a conservative attack won't be enough to light up the scoreboard against the Seminoles, so coach and offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen will need to pick his spots to probe the FSU secondary and attack.

Player To Watch: QB Chris Turner was named the ACC's Offensive Back of the Week for his performance against Boston College. He completed 21 of his 27 passes against the Eagles, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

Key Stat: Maryland is ranked #6 in ACC in total offense.

Scouting The Defense: Florida State quarterback Drew Weatherford is probable for this weekend, but is coming off a concussion suffered in last week's loss at Virginia Tech. The Seminoles have more speed at the skill positions than the Terrapins do on defense, so a key will be for defensive coordinator Chris Cosh to find a way to pressure the quarterback the way his team did a week ago against Boston College

Player To Watch: LB Erin Henderson -The junior has been in pain for most of the season, but that never seems to affect him when the ball is snapped. He had 13 tackles in the Boston College game, and continues to make a strong case for All-America consideration. But he'll have to be even better over the last two games if he hopes to lead Maryland to a bowl game.

Key Stat: Maryland is ranked #10 in ACC in total defense.
